User WhatsApp Windows Apps may soon get archived chats. According to a WABetaInfo report, WhatsApp A new beta update for UWP apps has begun. The update bumps the app’s version to 2.2213.3.0. With an update, the platform has gained support for archived chats. For those unaware, the Archive Chat feature allows users to hide individual or group chats from your chat list to better organize your conversations. So far, this feature is not available for Windows users.

The report further shows that the feature version rolled out for Windows users is the latest version, so this means that archived chats are always kept in the archived section even when new messages arrive. Since this is part of a beta release, it’s unclear when WhatsApp will bring the feature to the stable release.

In addition to this feature, the Facebook-owned platform has also introduced new icons. After the latest beta release, WhatsApp UWP Users will see new icons for media, files, links, encryption and groups under the chat options.

WhatsApp launched a dedicated Windows app last November. The app is very similar to the web version of the platform and can be found at Microsoft Store. It’s based on the Universal Windows Platform (UWP), which means it can sync in the background and receive notifications even when it’s not running.
