BENGALURU: Social app Chingari said on Friday that it has surpassed 10 million downloads on the Google Play Store, and content creators are heading straight to the app.
It’s been in the top two free apps on the Play Store for over a week now.
“Our retention and daily engagement time on the app are also growing steadily. Our team is working 24/7 to provide a seamless experience for all customers,” said co-founder Biswatma Nayak.
Earlier, the app hit 3 million downloads in just 10 days, and about 500,000 downloads in about 72 hours.
“We welcome all TikTok users to come and try Chingari, a 100% ‘Made in India’ app,” said Sumit Ghosh, co-founder and chief product officer.
The app supports languages such as English, Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi, Kannada, Punjabi, Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu.
The ban on 59 Chinese apps gives homegrown app developers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to create world-class products in chat, short video and photo/video sharing, and desi apps are now looking for new discoveries to make Invest wisely to expand their platform and handle the upcoming peak.
